Group Volunteering

PADV welcomes the hands-on support of churchs, corporations and other community groups!  Common group volunteer activites include, but are not limited to, the following:

Supply Drives

Holding a drive to collect various essentials is an excellent, off-site way for your volunteer group to greatly support PADV.   Our clients are continuously in need of various hygiene products, dry goods and household supplies.  Click here for a printable flyer that you can use to promote your collection drive.  Then email info@padv.org to let us know about your drive and to coordinate a pick up or drop off.

Holiday Celebrations

PADV tries to celebrate all major holidays at our shelters for the enjoyment our clients.  Volunteer groups have been extremely helpful in creating festive environments and providing holiday treats.  Some ideas include supplying greeting cards for Valentine’s Day, gift baskets for Easter, children’s costumes for Halloween and goodie bags for Labor Day.

Meals

One of the most common ways that community groups support PADV is by providing a meal for our shelter residents.  We prefer that meals be prepared off-site then delivered to our shelter(s) for consumption.

Shelter Beautification

Our shelters are routinely in need of landscaping, cleaning and other basic maintenance.  These activities sometimes require special equipment and tools.  If there is a particular way in which your volunteer group would like to assist in maintaining or beautifying our shelters, we would love to hear from you!

For more information on any of PADV's volunteer opportunities or to share an idea that you have for a group activity, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at Breshae.Pittman@PADV.org.
